Bright Side Dental awards scholarships to deserving Michigan students

June 20th, 2012

ROYAL OAK, Mich., June 20th, 2012 – Bright Side Dental group established the Bright Future Scholarship Program to assist deserving high school students in obtaining a college education. The deadline for entries was on April 30th, 2012.
In order for applicants to qualify, each student had to be a graduating senior with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average and be involved in extracurricular activities. It was also required that students live within the Bright Side Dental service areas.  Each applicant completed a one-page essay answering the following question: With social media and technology changing so rapidly, how do you envision dentists communicating with their patients in the future?
Essays were judged by a panel of dental health experts and two students were selected to each receive a $500 scholarship to be used toward college expenses. Elena Yarmy of Royal Oak High School and Braden Swantick of Churchill High School in Livonia were this year’s deserving winners.  Both students plan to attend the University of Michigan College of Engineering in the fall.  Bright Side Dental wishes Elena and Braden luck in all of their future endeavors.
“We understand the importance of education and giving back to the community, and we are proud to offer the Bright Future Scholarship to deserving students,” said Josh Gershonowicz, Vice President of Public Relations & Marketing for Bright Side Dental.
